If you want a simple & easy way to get your blog running, then Jetpack is the answer. It will take care of all of your needs in one complete package. It only takes about five minutes to set it up & it will even install Akismet anti-spam to keep your comment sections clean.
There are so many features in Jetpack, it’s hard NOT to recommend it. Therein lies the problem. Even though you can disable the modules you don’t need to use, it seems to slow things down a bit. This is my feelings on using it & not a proper speed comparison, though I may do that later.
As your site gets more advanced, if you are a ‘power user’, you will see some limitations in the software. Myself, I prefer to use diff3erent plugins to achieve what Jetpack does. My main reason for this is that I use Cloudflare (highly recommended) and that takes care of the Content Delivery Network tasks & also provides security from attacks & spam.
So, as you can see, it does away with the two biggest features of Jetpack. I still run Akismet as it catches some of the spam Cloudflare misses. I also use Rank Math to help with my search engine optimization, so that does away with a few more features. There are a lot of great feature3s in Jetpack, but I found myself disabling a lot of them, so I just uninstalled it.
Pro’s of Jetpack.

- Takes care of CDN & security
- Offers a lot of blocks for page/post customization.
Con’s of Jetpack.
- Have to create a WordPress.com account
- Seems to slow down your site a bit.
- Amount of settings can be daunting for new users.
