I thought I was going to have a heart attack from all the tension in the first ‘Alien’ movie.
Top Ten List of Horror Films that I love.
The 70’s was a great year for horror: “The Exorcist”, “Carrie”, “The Omen”, “Phantasm”, “The Texas Chainsaw Massacre” & many more. But for me (squeaking in at 1979) it’s “Alien“. Loved it!
It had everything a great horror movie should.
So Alien, one of the best horror movies of the 70’s & all time.

Sometimes I wonder where the future of horror movies is headed. There have been so many films with just about every kind of terrifying scenario you can possibly imagine. I have been watching some new ones on Netflix & for the most part, they have been pretty predictable. Squid Game & Midnight Mass were some exceptions where I was surprised. Tell me some good new movies to watch that don’t follow movies of the past. No spoilers, please.

So, a bunch of people fall through a big hole created by some sort of dimensional rift type thing & touch down on the other side in some sort of “Land of the Lost” type place. First off there is no way they would have dropped out of that rift, which is several miles in the sky, & they land without any serious damage. That is not how gravity works.
Secondly there is not enough rubble around, I mean a huge chunk of Los Angeles fell through with them. That is not how rubble works. One guy is already trying to commit suicide. That is not how despair works. Also, the people just outran a huge wolf. That is not how nature works.
If it is not on Netflix or Hulu, it is pretty much dead to me.
